I think it’s a pretty universal truth that we’re all trying to save a buck or two these days. One of the downsides of pinching pennies is that extraneous, though culturally rewarding activities such as visiting your local museum, zoo, or science hall are traded in for cheaper in-door alternatives, such as watching endless hours of the Discovery Channel’s Blue Planet or relearning how to play chess.
