"Travel guidebooks are handy, but they are often outdated after a few months on the shelf. Here, you enter your destination and dates of travel, and the site generates a custom, up to the minute itinerary, complete with local maps, event listings, weather forecast, common phrases and much more".

"Offbeat's approach, however, is inviting and easy. And judging by the way they've run it so far, you can bet their beta version will continue to get stacked with even more stuff to add or subtract to your guides to help your further your journey into full-on customized nirvana. It makes a weekend jaunt to an unknown destination incredibly less clumsy and infinitely more hands-on.
Where I've Been salutes Offbeat Guides' appreciation for the little things that the little guy / girl wants -- they manage to do the dirtiest work in the cleanest, sleekest way possible. Cheers.
You can also keep up with some sage advice and travel news -- particularly for the tech-savvy traveler -- on Offbeat's Travel Blog."

@ckorakas @dangillmor thanks for suggesting @offbeatguides, tested on my home town and its good!
@maxniederhofer: Bought a great sf guide for my august bay area trip starting today. @offbeatguides @dsifry thanks!
"This is something I have been looking for, for a long time. I travel quite a lot to various destinations and your concept of collecting geographical info, history, surrounding areas, interesting complimentary stories etc, events info, and even the language help at the end is just great. The fact that one can choose which parts one wants to include make the whole concept even more useful and customizable. And at a fantastic price - $10 for a pdf !!!"
