Things We Like

Airlines with a sense of humor. Since flying is basically humorless these days (I’m looking at you, United, Continental, and American) it’s nice to see that some companies still try to make air travel fun.
We won’t beat the Air New Zealand horse into the ground (because we’ve covered them on several occasions) so instead we’ll show Delta’s subtle, yet saucy, in flight safety video. I first saw this on a flight from JFK to SFO, and I haven’t been able to get it out of my head since then. Perhaps it’s the coy reminder that smoking isn’t allowed on any Delta flight, which is why this clip is so well-known.
JetBlue always seems to have killer ad campaigns, whether they target the fat cats on Wall Street or try to subtly convince you that their amenities are better than the competition’s. Either way, it’s a win (except when their videos don’t load on their Welcome Big Wigs site, then it’s a slight fail. Let’s hope they are working on it.)

Finally, the low-fare South African airline kulula.com created a unique livery on one of their Boeing 737 aircraft that explains the different parts of the aircraft. Need to know where the jumpseat is located (for “wannabe pilots”) or where the galley sits? It’s all written out for you.
Next up: “Things We Don’t Like.” You can’t target our dear city of San Francisco and get away with it.
