A Song For Delayed United Customers

This morning, about a thousand United passengers spent up to six hours in line at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. And it wasn’t at a Starbucks.

On one of the busiest travel days of the year, a computer glitch shut down the airline’s entire system and made it impossible for the agents to check in passengers. O’Hare is a major hub, so the delays and cancellations affected travelers around the world. Thankfully, United customers were allowed to change their reservations free of charge, but that was little consolation for those already tapping their feet in Chicago.
The good news is, they’ve fixed it! All United computers were up and running by 11am (the problem started around 4am) and things are slowly returning to normal, though there may continue to be delays through this afternoon. The airline is still advising travelers to check their flight status at before heading to the airport.
